ONFS, Acrylic Painting on Paper

Even though we are sinners, God loves us so much that he came down as the Person of Jesus to pay the punishment for our sins through his death on the cross. Everyone who believes in Jesus and personally trusts that he has died for their sins will be saved from the consequences of their sins, death and hell.

Artists’ Reflection:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

God dearly loves each one of us and desires to reconcile us to himself. He has provided the way through Jesus.

To be eternally reconciled to God you must first repent (turn away from your sins). Secondly, you must trust in Jesus to be your personal Savior. That is, you must personally appropriate God’s forgiveness by believing that Jesus has paid the full punishment for your sins through his death on the cross. He rose from the dead making it possible for you to be eternally reconciled to God.

Jesus died to ransom us from our sins (Mark 10:45). Therefore, when we place our faith in him as our Savior, all of our sins have been punished in him once for all (Hebrews 10:10-18), and his perfect righteousness (moral purity) is freely and eternally imputed to us. Salvation (being saved from our sins and from hell and granted eternal life) is a free gift from God that we acquire through faith, not good works (Ephesians 2:8-9).

“Then they asked him, ‘What must we do to do the works God requires?’ Jesus answered, ‘The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent [Jesus]‘” (John 6:28-29).
