Aurora Australis, Milky Way and Bioluminescence – TASMANIA
Tasmania has some of the darkest skies in the world and, therefore, some of the brightest views of our Milky Way and the Aurora Australis. The Aurora Australis is caused when charged particles from the sun strike the Earth’s upper atmosphere. When they collide with oxygen it produces green and yellow auroras. When they collide with nitrogen it produces pink, red, purple and blue auroras.
