“Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods.” (Psalm 95:1-3)
2 Chronicles 7:1-10
Everyone who places faith in Jesus Christ as Savior enters into a loving relationship with God. (See “Message“.) The natural expression of love for God is praise and worship, which is what we were created for. “…the people I [God] formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise” (Isaiah 43:21).
When worshipers are united together in humility, honesty, submission and earnestness in seeking the face of the LORD, their corporate worship becomes incredibly powerful. Whenever I experience this I’m blown away at how the Holy Spirit takes control of the meeting and guides the assembly, united as one, into his heart and his will. I tremble at his holy presence when hundreds of worshipers are on the same page, all responding to the presence of God in the same way at the same time.
The jars symbolize believers, vessels of God. The gold inside the jars symbolizes the indwelling presence of God. The colors represent the many facets of praise, worship, adoration, exultation, thanksgiving, etc. unto God. It ascends as a mass of corporate praise and worship to God. The gold amongst the colors also symbolizes God, who inhabits the praises of his people (Psalm 22:3).
