Jesus is “The Lion of the Tribe of Judah” (Revelation 5:5). Among other things, this title speaks of Jesus’ sovereignty, majesty, power and strength–for he is the King of Kings! (Revelation 19:16). The artwork in this series comes out of my personal experiences with the powerful Lion of Judah working in my life. It also reflects on different aspects of Jesus as the Lion of Judah. C.S. Lewis drew on this Biblical imagery for the character of Aslan (the Savior of Narnia), a fantastical version of Christ, in his series “The Chronicles of Narnia”.
These drawings were featured on the covers of Geoff Waugh’s Lion of Judah series of books. The books describe the titles, reign, life, death, resurrection and Spirit of Jesus. Please see The Renewal Journal website for more information on the books.
